The undervalued ingredient of success

Hey Friends!

Every Tuesday night around 8:30 pm you can find me at the driving range in Burbank with my clubs, a small bucket of golf balls, and a pocketful of persistence.

Those 30 minutes are some of the very few my schedule can afford to fit in practice because like many of you my hobby time is infringed upon by a ruthless adversary named, life.

However, I’m there every Tuesday unless it’s raining, enjoying the process and accomplishing my goals for the game one swing at a time.

Playing guitar for almost 25 years has taught me that it’s not the quantity of practice that makes the player, it’s persistence over time.

There are weeks where you may only get a few strums in and that is ok, so long as it’s at least a few strums every week. You (or your child) are on a journey, the same as I am with my golf game. All we need to do is to continue to “show up” week after week and success will eventually fund its way to us.

My point is that an overlooked ingredient when trying to bake a “success” pie is persistence. Just keep showing up, even if it is only once per week.
